New Server, CPanel: Understanding and Getting Around the Shared SSL Browser Warning.
When you go to CPanel via your domain name you may get the message: "SSL encryption is required for access to this server." Click on "Log in using SSL." You may then get a warning. Here's an explanation:
Newer servers have much improved security but can cause false warnings. When using a shared SSL, your browser will give a browser warning if you try to use your domain name.
One way to avoid the warning and still use your domain name is to purchase a private SSL certificate and a dedicated IP address.
However, since CPanel is safe, here is how you can bypass the warnings and still access CPanel with your domain name.
Firefox
- Go to the warning message and click the "I Understand the Risks" link at the bottom.
- Click the "Add Exception" button.
- Click the "Get Certificate" button.
- Click the "Confirm Security Exception" button.
Internet Explorer
- Go to the warning message and click "Continue to this website (not recommended)."
